Ms. Youngberg joined IMAS in June 2014 to serve as Executive Director. With over fifteen years’ experience in the non-profit field, she holds a Master of Divinity degree from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor’s degree from Sarah Lawrence College. Prior to IMAS, Laura served at non-profit organizations, including Holy Family School, Health for Humanity, and Northwestern University.

CLIENT SERVICES MANAGER
OTHMAN AL ANI
Mr. Al Ani joined to IMAS In May 2014 as Case Manager and Employment Specialist. He is now full time as Client Services Manager. He holds a bachelor degree in Physics from Al-Mustansiriya University from Baghdad 2006. In Iraq Othman worked as a social worker with NRC, where he helped displaced Iraqis who lived in settlements by leading groups of local households to advocate for their rights, and supplied them with any necessities. At IMAS, Othman works as Client Services Manager to conduct intake assessments for all clients and assist with services such as applying for benefits, jobs, referrals to programs, and assistance with cultural orientation.

MIDDLE EASTERN REFUGEE TRANSITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM MANAGER
Mr. Helfand volunteered as an intern with IMAS in 2013 and joined the staff in August 2014. He holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Chicago in both Middle Eastern Studies and Public Policy. His Bachelor’s Degree is from Colby College. He studied Arabic in Jordan and Israel. At IMAS, David is responsible for advising clients on the college application process, mentoring college students, and advising on professional and vocational training. He also manages the MERTA Program.

CHILD & FAMILY SERVICES SPECIALIST
Ms. Kadhim joined IMAS In February 2016 as Child and Family Services Specialist. She holds a bachelor degree in English Literature from the University of Baghdad in 2004. Ms.Kadhim worked as a program assistant with World Health Organization Iraq Office based in Amman and she also worked in Iraq with University Research Company as an Office Manger. At IMAS Zinah assists enrolling children in preschool, elementary and high school, and working with parents, teachers and administration at schools to resolve student problems. In addition she provides support for parents to become advocates for their children through monthly Parents Groups and the Parent School Navigator volunteer program.

REFUGEE SENIOR SERVICES CASE MANAGER
Ms. Susan Adeeb joined IMAS in August 2016 as Case Manager for the Refugee Senior Services Program. She works with clients who are over 60 years old to provide Case Management, Referrals, and Group Activities.

BENEFITS CASE MANAGER
RANA AL MOSOUKAR
Ms. Rana Al Mosoukar joined IMAS in January 2017. She holds Master degree in Public Health from Liverpool School of tropical medicine. She worked as public health specialist in Ministry of Health in Damascus and as a Technical officer in World Health Organization, she was health coordinator in Azraq and Zaatari Camps. In IMAS, Rana works as a Benefits Case Worker providing assistance for refugee and immigrant to apply for benefits, and do referral to needed programs.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST
Ms.Ekram Abdullah joind IMAS in March 2017 as a Middle Eastern Community Engagement Specialist. She is skilled and trained on leadership and family counseling, with several years of experience in women empowering with different skills. She has has experience working with many non-profit organizations in community service and development both in Iraq and Chicago. She has a great passion and plan to help others in the community.

CLIENT SERVICES ASSISTANT
Ms. Shmeiran Odesho joined IMAS in February 2017 as Client Services Assistant. At IMAS Shmeiran answers phone calls and helps clients schedule their appointments. She also assists with promoting the IMAS programs to clients in the reception area. Shmeiran volunteered at IMAS in 2015 and in her role, she supported the office as a receptionist and data entry. Also, she assisted refugees applying for jobs. Shmeiran is pre-med student majoring in Biology and she is trilingual Assyrian, Arabic and English.
